Definition

Cognitive impairment in the areas of consciousness, memory, motor coordination, perception, orientation, speech, and thought. This is an acute state of mental confusion, involving disorientation, and the inability to focus on information or surroundings. Delirium Tremens or DTs, is an acute physical reaction in alcoholics when they are deprived of alcohol. Symptoms include, cardiac problems, disoriented behavior, hallucinations, and fever.
