A little goes a long way

So most of you may know I support PAPYRUS a lot.

After a successful cake sale back in April, I’ve decided to continue fundraising and looking to book a SkyDive next year to raise even more for them.

With a rough target of £395 to raise, I’ve had a few little ideas that’s helping me reach this target:

  • Save all pennies in a jar
  • Add bingo winnings to the jar
  • Continue to do more cake sales/pub quizzes to raise
  • Hold small events to make fundraising fun for all

These are just a few things. I have so far £30 from pennies and £10 from bingo. A little goes a long way. Every penny I save could prevent a suicide.

PAPYRUS aim to:

  • Reduce Stigma associated with suicide
  • Increase Awareness of young suicide and how to help prevent it; this involves speaking in schools, colleges and community organisations
  • Provide services (e.g. HOPELineUK; SMS and email advice; Training such as ASIST; online information; professional advice)
  • Campaign as a UK charity to prevent young suicide
  • Listen and Learn - supporting/disseminating research/knowledge
  • Contribute to local, regional and national suicide prevention strategic action

Which is pretty awesome and why they’re such a worthwhile charity. Also because it’s close to heart. They’re not government funded like most charities so rely kindly on donations from yourselves.

I hope to keep you all updated.

If you’re wanting to help, even by the smallest amount, you can donate to my JustGiving page. I wish you all well, and hope you keep safe.
