Deans List: An App For Veterans

Earlier this fall I was so enormously honored to receive an email from Lloyd Dean advising me that he was adding Heal My PTSD to his Deans List app for veterans. He wrote,

My name is Lloyd Deans and I’m a Combat Veteran that deployed in 08-09 to Iraq.  I just recently launched a free app called Deans List Veteran Resources for the Android, Apple smartphones and tablet devices.

My goal is to reach as many Veterans in order to provide the best resources for their specific needs.  The Deans List is the first of its kind on both mobile and tablet devices.

When I see someone doing such good work just to give back, I love to support and help spread the word. I asked Lloyd a few questions to give you more of an idea of what the Deans List is all about:

What made you decide to develop this app?

I wanted to do SOMETHING, anything. Veterans have many resources available to them from discounts, to the Syracuse Veteran Technology program, Hazmat certification UBHC program, military spouse groups and much more. I wanted to provide the most relevant, specific resources free and in the palm of your hands. My goal is to connect the dots for Veterans and their families to specific resources on a mobile platform.

What’s the purpose of the app?

The purpose of the Deans List Veteran Resources App is to aggregate current and effective Veteran Resources and deliver them to Veterans and their family FREE to their smartphones and mobile devices.

As a tool for veterans, what does the app provide?

The Deans List Resources App provides a directory of Veteran Resources, breaking news, videos, QR scanner, instant chat and much more.

What has helped you most in your transition since coming home?

Family, friends and my Battle Buddies.

Here’s a brief summary of the Deans List:
