PTSD Healing Thought of the Week: You Have Enormous Power

During my recovery I battled a lot of negative beliefs. For example, the idea that I didnā€™t deserve to survive. Yep, that was a BIG negative belief that drove a lot of my thoughts, behaviors and actions for over 25 years.

In recovery though, I learned some new, very positive beliefs, too. For example, this idea that I write about in my PTSD recovery memoir:

The power we discover inside ourselves as we survive a life-threatening experience can be utilized equally well outside of crisis, too. I am, in every moment, capable of mustering the strength to survive againā€”or of tapping that strength in other good, productive, healthy ways.

It took me a while to figure out how to apply that power. I bet you can do it more quickly than I did!

You have enormous healing potential, the goal is learning to access it.Ā Dig deep. You can do this. I believe in you!
