PTSD Survivors Speak: Shadows of Silence

Every week in this ‘Survivors Speak’ feature my goal is to give a voice to you, those who are walking the path of PTSD and recovery. That’s what Sherry seeks to do, too…

My name is Sherry Clyburn.  I am a 51 year old mother of three adult children and a grandmother of nine who has survived childhood abuse which spiraled into a long term relationship with a man who introduced me to a life filled withPTSD, Survivors Speak, Shadows of Silence domestic violence. I went on to become a non-offending mother of a sexually abused child.

I am developing two books.

“Shadows of Silence: Book 1” provides center stage to what transpired in my own and my daughter’s life.

“Shadows of Silence: Book 2” is an anthology e-book, with entries from professionals as well as both male and female survivors from most age brackets, from many walks of life and from many parts of the world.

My goal is to cover as many aspects of abuse as possible. I am seeking others to add an entry in my free e-book. Either a testimony or an article by survivors, authors and organization. Although there will be no finical gain, it will promote awareness and offer fellow survivors support and encouragement so they know they ate not alone in their struggles.

I ask that you keep one thing in mind, the details of what you  are not as important as how the abuse affected your life and what you have done to cope. I believe ABUSE IS ABUSE  and all of it no matter what the type, has a profound affect on those who have at one time been victimized by it.   Although I would love to advertise the names of abusers, I cannot legally do this as there is a risk that I will get sued.  Therefore, it is for this reason I can only allow authors to use a first name or a pen name.  I cannot  have risk a connection to any abuser.   I have no word limit and authors may wish to write something new or something that has been previously written.

As a sign of my appreciation for being a part of my e-book, you will receive a copy of the e-book “Shadows of Silence: Book 2″ naturally free of charge, as well you will have the opportunity to purchase one soft cover copy of my first book at a 50% discount, which will include shipping and handling charges.

Once I am published I will be presenting something that is rather unique gift. Most authors sell their book alone with nothing extra. I am giving the second e-book to those who purchase it.

Recently, I received a very generous offer from a News And Political Reporter from Examiner.com who is also a Community Reporter, FOX 6 BLOCKS & Midwest Bureau Chief & News Anchor. He is helping me to promote my books by placing a link on his site. This holds great promise of gaining worldwide exposure of my books.

I want to thank you in advance for caring enough to check out what I am doing. I really hope you others will find it in their heart to join me in my efforts to make a difference. If you are interested in adding your voice or if you have additional questions please do not hesitate to contact me at burt222@hotmail.com. Some of my emails are bouncing back, if this happens please send it to sherry1234567891@live.com.

I am inviting others to read a portion of my testimony and to read some of the other articles that I have authored so that you can learn my writing style.  Please go to  http://sherry123456789.xanga.com/
