Survivor Poetry by Michele Rosenthal

This week marks the end of our annual celebration of National Poetry Month! (Ok, literally, the end of April should have marked the end but we had so many submissions I just kept going!)

We end our series of survivor poetry with one of my poems. It’s actually the title poem of my PTSD recovery memoir, BEFORE THE WORLD INTRUDED: Conquering the Past and Creating the Future.

(The first part of the vid is about how and why I wrote the poem. You can skip immediately to the reading of the poem itself at 4:45.)
