I’m Sophie, I’m 18! (Legal to do mostly everything!)
I enjoy volunteering and helping others. I love writing my blog and feel as though in some what way it helps people. I love my job in the Bakery and have some amazing friends. My favourite film is the Smurfs. How cute and adorable are they?!
I used to be in the football team at school, and would totally win against the boys. I enjoyed it, it was one hobby I still love to do! (I hate watching football on TV though)
Shall I start my introduction again?
Hello. My name’s Sophie, I’m 18 and have mental health problems. I suffer from Bulimia, Depression, and BPD. I also Self-Harm. I’ve been struggling for 3 years.
I’ve tried committing suicide on many occassions and have always failed. I’ve upset close friends and don’t have a family that understands. Some mornings I don’t want to get out of bed, I don’t have the motivation to do anything. Some nights are worst than others.
I wear a fake smile and isolate myself. I hide how I feel and hope no one asks questions. I lie about how I’m feeling, the little ‘I’m fine’ stops people asking.
Am I mental? Did you stop reading as soon as you heard I had mental health problems? Are you thinking that I need to be in a psychiatric unit?
Mental Health is a taboo topic, but why? It’s no different to cancer, or fibromyalgia. You can’t see them.
Everyone struggles with something in life, and us, normal people struggle to regulate and cope with our emotions positively.
It’s time to speak up and end the stigma around mental health, are you willing to talk out and help end the stigma?!
If you’re willing to write a post to spread the word around your experiences then don’t hesitate to drop me an e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org -. I’d love to hear from you.
