According to a new study, war veterans coming off their stints of duty often have their early onset Alzheimer’s cases misdiagnosed by the physicians tending to them. Because Alzheimer’s is usually linked with memory loss, and the early onset variety of the disorder doesn’t necessarily have that characteristic, people can go for extended periods of time not knowing that they are suffering from the disease.
Now, One Mind for Research is looking to promote aiming more resources and attention to getting war veterans the proper type of care for their potential conditions. Fox News details the story in the video below.
